Reporting to: Sales Team Leader

Main Purpose of Job:

    The person will need to be part of a dynamic Sales Team, carrying out duties such as processing enquiries and orders, sending quotations to customers, dealing with customer services and making phone calls to both customers and prospective customers.


  • Answer all telephone calls within an acceptable time frame
  • Respond to customer enquiries via email within an acceptable time frame
  • Answer all web chats within an acceptable time frame
  • To process sales related activities for the company through email, telephone and web chats
  • To deal with customer service enquiries, providing a high quality service
  • Raise purchase orders on time to ensure the delivery of goods to customers
  • Tracking sales orders and purchase orders to ensure that they are scheduled and sent out on time
  • Prepare quotations for customers and where applicable sign off low margin or high value enquiries with Management
  • Effectively communicate with customers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Contacting suppliers to solve problems, chase delivery dates and general product enquiries
  • Carry out administrative tasks of the Sales Department such as non-conformance, web order entry and order chasing
  • Resolve any sales related issues with customers
  • Build relationships with key customers
  • To prospect old, new and existing customers to increase sales turnover
  • Maintain and update customer information through system CRM
  • To achieve set key performance indicators set out by Management reviewed by monthly ones2one meetings
  • Liaising with Marketing Department to make sure the website and catalogue are up to date and priced correctly
  • Regular contact with Accounts Department to ensure customers are set up correctly and displayed correctly on the system
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
  • Follow company guidelines on processing credit card information

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum GCSE level of education required, however ‘A’ level or equivalent would be preferred
  • At least 1 year of telesales experience would be preferred, training is provided in house and on the job
  • IT literacy is essential with experience of Word, Excel and Outlook

  • The nature of the job demands a high level of attention to detail in order to process orders and customer service issues efficiently and effectively
  • The job holder will need good communication skills and a personable telephone manner
  • An ability to multi task is key to daily activities

Authorities and Approvals:

  • Make judgment on levels of discount for lower value orders based on the company’s margin guide lines
  • Agree delivery dates with customers and suppliers
  • To make decisions on returns and refunds for low value orders in accordance with the company’s terms and conditions

Salary and Benefits:

  • Basic salary of £15,000 to £19,000 per annum
  • Sales bonus on achieving sales targets set at between 10% and 20% of salary

Digital Marketing Executive

An exciting opportunity within a dynamic Marketing Department. Join our team of marketers to work in a forward thinking multi-brand, multi-channel company.

The person will work equally across the Direct2U network of websites and Workplace Products websites to improve customer experience and grow online and offline sales. They will be responsible for assigned product categories and will focus on core products identified in the strategy. They will also coordinate with other team members on shared projects such as remarketing, catalogue and brochure creation, videos and content creation. The person will be required to meet specific targets per product category, and as a team, and will report to the Marketing Manager.

As a Digital Marketer you will need to:

  • Upload and update product information and images across the websites, using the Profit+ Web Management Module and company’s E-Commerce platforms. The information must be customer focused, accurate and grammatically correct.
  • Create engaging and grammatically correct content (for example blogs and category content) that is in accordance to the agreed SEO and Marketing strategies.
  • Design and develop website visuals using the brand guidelines to enhance the customer’s experience.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager and Web Developer to create market leading designs and functionality for the websites.
  • Be aware of the latest trends in SEO, particularly the latest Google algorithms
  • Assist in implementing the PPC strategy on a day to day basis.
  • Conduct keyword research using Google Ads.
  • Monitor website performance with web analytics software (Google Analytics).
  • Create email marketing campaigns to meet the agreed schedule; and review the performance of said email campaigns and use this information to continually improve the effectiveness of the company’s email marketing strategy.
  • Contribute to social media posts across all social media platforms to develop brand awareness in line with agreed brand building strategy.
  • Continually review competitors’ websites to monitor product offerings, prices, functionality and design. The person will work closely with the Marketing Manager and Purchasing Manager to ensure product information is correct and prices are competitive.
  • Help develop and implement all content marketing strategies.
  • Asist in communicating the marketing strategy to other departments within the business.

  • Good numeracy skills to calculate ROI and solve other mathematical problems that may arise on a day to day basis.
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging social media platforms.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Adobe CC, mainly Photoshop and InDesign
  • Knowledge of Pay Per Click, Google Ads and Google Analytics
  • Understanding of industrial products, how they are used and how customer’s like to purchase these products
  • Experience with Wordpress CMS
  • Experience with Magento CMS
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • 2 Year’s Digital Marketing experience or similar
