Unique Handrail Design
One notable safety feature of the heavy-duty TUFF Warehouse Steps is the bright yellow handrail. This handrail is present on all models with five or more treads. It has been intentionally designed to prioritise user safety when working at greater heights, providing a secure point of contact during ascents and descents. It offers added stability and reassurance, helping to prevent slips, loss of balance, and unsafe movements while carrying tools, boxes, or stock items.
The handrail also cleverly functions as part of the mobility and braking system for the steps. To move the unit around the workspace, the yellow handle must be lifted. This action engages the four castor wheels, allowing the ladder to be moved smoothly into position. When raised, it also serves as a visible barrier, discouraging anyone from climbing the steps while they are being moved.
Once the steps are in place, lowering the handle locks the unit. This disengages the castors, ensuring the steps remain fully stable while operators climb or work from the platform. This design provides an ideal balance of mobility, control, and safety in busy warehouse environments.
