BENEFITS OF AN ESD WORKBENCH
ESD stands for Electrostatic Discharge, which is small sparks of electricity that you often can't feel but can damage your electrical projects. These workbenches are ideal for those working with circuits or electronic components to prevent the buildup of static electricity. Even a small discharge as low as 10 volts can cause damage to microchips, circuit boards, microprocessors, and much more.
Creating an electrostatic protected area is important for regular work with electricals. This set up typically includes a clean and dry area, esd workbench and accessories, ESD matting, ESD clothing and tools. It is recommended that the area or production line is restricted to select ESD workers only.

NEOSTAT VS LAMSTAT
As an ESD bench, specialist worktops are suggested for ESD protection for use in electrical environments. These include Neostat and Lamstat options. Neostat worktops are made from a static-dissipative synthetic rubber material. It is high-performance with anti-static properties with leakage resistance of 105-107 ohms. Moreover, it is made from 2mm thick material and 18mm thick particle board substrate.
In comparison, the Lamstat option is light grey and features a hard high-pressure dissipative laminate surface. It features a leakage resistance of 106-108 ohms and is built from 1mm thick material and 18mm thick particle board with balancing laminate on the reverse.
Both surface options are heat, chemical and solder resistant, suitable for ESD use.
CONFIGURE YOUR OWN BENCH
This workbench is a customer favourite, allowing you to customise your bench with the accessories you need most. Our above bench accessories include upper shelves, rear support posts, monitors and more. Upper shelves are a common accessory, providing extra storage with quick access.
We offer a range of under-bench storage options for secure storage of tools, equipment and components. These are available in 3-drawer and cupboard configurations with keys supplied, and available in a variety of colour options. Secure storage is a great solution for busy work environments, ensuring your tools are there for when you need them most.
In addition, we offer extension benches to extend the static dissipative surface area, making room for larger projects and collaborative work. If you already have our ESD benches, you can extend them easily with these extension bays, available in 3 sizes.
DURABLE WORKBENCHS
The ESD Workbench can handle durable use with a 250kg Load Capacity as standard. The high-quality bench is strong and durable with a fully welded square tube framework. It features a light grey powder-coated finish, to complement professional spaces. The ESD Workbench is recommended for industrial environments who assembly or repair electrical applications. The workbench feet can be easily adjusted for easy levelling across all floor surfaces.
Our workbench is fully welded with accessories delivered in component form. This allows for flexibility and ease of use, carrying the bench through tight corridors, stairs and busy work zones. Moreover, the framework features airflow drilled in wards so nuts and bolts are not required.
As a specialist workbench supplier, we manufacture this bench right here in the UK in our facility. The bench features a 840m working height as standard to improve ergonomics for comfort when working long hours. We offer the bench in 760 and 920mm as bespoke options. ANTI-STATIC ACCESSORIES
We offer a range of anti-static accessories to customise your ESD bench tailored to your tasks. Please note that wrist strap sockets are included as standard for attaching the wrist strap accessories.
Some key accessories to consider adding are:
Earth/Ground Wrist straps- These allow static to travel safely to the ground for ESD protection.
RCD Circuit Breaker- This is a life-saving device, which prevents electric shocks from occurring, making it an important solution when working with electrical components. In addition, this provides extra protection against electrical fires.
Earth/Ground Plug - This plug is built to discharge static energy over time. It creates a safe path to ground for electricity which can ultimately save lives if a bare live wire is touched.
