Longspan Shelving Installation Services & Projects

Our expert installation team recently completed the above Longspan Shelving Project for a Specialist Computer Centre in Birmingham. Below we will outline the whole project process from the beginning to the end.
The client stated that they required the installation of new shelving units. This is for their “linkblock area” warehouse facility. Our team then collected photos of what their previous shelving layout looked like. Which you can see below:
After consultation between the customer and our team of experts, we clarified the brief and the following first steps:
The Brief:
- 14 x 600mm Deep x 1800mm wide x 2400mm High – each with 5 slated shelves
- 7 x 750mm Deep x 1800mm wide x 2400mm High – each with 4 slated shelves
First Steps:
- 12 Longspan bays are currently used
- Removal and replacements necessary for all shelving bays
- All bays are currently fixed to the floor. The removal would need us to fit and level the bays to adhere to Health & Safety requirements.
Initial Proposal
Our team then moved on to discuss the customer’s new shelving. This is where we examined product proposals and the client’s workplace layout. Including a drawing of our proposal in their facility below:
This part of the project allows our experts to provide first-class consultation. Also, add any valuable suggestions for clients to consider.
Final Proposal
After working with the client, we then finalised our proposal (above). This included our best-selling TUFF Longspan Shelving with 2 different variations. The proposal features a layout of the client’s workspace. This includes all appropriate sizes and key details noted.
Our team was also able to provide a bespoke accessory in the form of secured rope mesh backing. The mesh backing features across the rear of all shelving, assuring no items would fall from the back. As well as this, we customised the TUFF Longspan Shelving to feature slated shelves as per the client’s request.
Additional Services Included
- We supplied all shelving with floor fixings (to fix to the ground) and load notices applied
- Our experts delivered and installed all shelving. Also providing the certificate of completion for the client’s insurance purposes
- The client did not have access to an external/internal FLT. So, we delivered the shelving palletised and delivered it so we could offload via a tail lift. Straight on to the client’s loading bay
- We completed all the work at weekends, as per the client’s request
The Result
As shown above, our installation featured our 4-shelf TUFF Longspan Shelving Bays with wire mesh backing. Also with appropriate safety signage on each side. We assembled all adjustable slated shelves and each bay has 3 different levels. All in bespoke sizes to cater to the client’s needs. Starting with a lower level shelf to the second being at a higher level.
