HSE Law Poster Deadline Fast Approaching

Don’t forget, on 5th April 2014 the life of the 1999 version of the health and safety law poster comes to an end. Employers will need to replace these older posters with the 2009 version.

In April 2009, the HSE Board set a five-year transition period for replacing the 1999 poster and leaflet, and that deadline is fast approaching.

Why do I need to update my poster?

It’s your legal duty under Health and Safety Information for Employees Regulations (HSIER) to display the most up-to-date version. So, if you employ anyone you’ll know you need to display a HSE law poster in your workplace or give employees the equivalent leaflet.

What does the new poster look like and what has changed?

  • It has been redesigned to be more readable and engaging.
  • It has been set out in simple terms, using numbered lists of basic points.
  • It shows what employers and workers must do, as well as showing what to do if there is a problem.
  • Each copy incorporates a unique, serially numbered hologram in the bottom right corner for authenticity.
