What is ESD? Electrostatic discharge (ESD) involves the release of static electricity when 2 items come in to contact. Once 2 materials have rubbed together - 1 of the materials will become positively charged and now has a electrostatic charge. If this charge comes in to contact with the right material it will transfer - this creates an ESD Event. Although most ESD events are harmless, it can be a costly problem for businesses operating in industrial environments. If a charge is released on to an electronic device, the heat from the charge could damage the device. In many cases this will cause a latent defect, which can reduce the lifespan of an electronic device. This is where ESD Workbenches would then be a suitable resolution. These type of workbenches and accessories are made with high resistant dissipative materials that help provide a safe flow of electrical discharge.
Why Cantilever? Our Cantilever workbenches feature a unique framework whereby all 4 of the leg frames are positioned to the rear of the workbench. This means that users can easily access their workbench from the side - without a leg frame restricting them. This is mostly effective when the user is seated and working across different workstations.

Lamstat Worktop Information:
- Light grey, hard high pressure dissipative laminate surface
- 1mm thick material, bonded to an 18mm thick particle board with balancing laminate on the reverse
- Lamstat Leakage resistance: 106-108 ohms
- *Both surfaces are heat, chemical and solder resistant*
